We have been working in partnership with the artist Bordalo ii since 2019 to develop various pieces that combine art with creative technology.
The idea to develop this piece came about in collaboration with the artist. Here, transformation is the conceptual matrix of creation, with a view to sustainability. The combination of waste and technology is the basis of the various technical challenges the artist sets us.
A set of discarded plastic bottles gave rise to a giant screen. This piece was on display at the artist’s “Evilution” exhibition in Lisbon. The project started with a small prototype made up of a few bottles. A long testing phase culminated in the placement of addressable LEDs inside the bottles and the transformation of each bottle into a pixel. Subsequently, using LED controller software, we turned this piece into a screen, capable of displaying patterns, images or videos.
