Pastelaria Versailles

Development of a product capable of displaying the exact phase of the moon as it is in the sky in real time, regardless of where the piece is positioned on earth. We prototyped the electronics and conceived the aesthetic design of the piece using various materials, which was finally manufactured in Alabaster stone. After the prototyping phase, we developed the product, tested the market and are now manufacturing more than 100 units. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Versailles invited the house’s brands to tell the story of the centenary in the shop windows of the emblematic patisserie in Lisbon. In turn, the brands entrusted us with the task of bringing these stories to life, transforming the production briefs into creations that make up a coherent narrative in both aesthetics and form. Proudly, we are now part of this story to which we provided a happy ending. This was one of the most challenging projects of our journey and one that will live on in our memories through the creations we developed. We combined the different landscapes of Portugal in a single horizon, represented in original machines capable of capturing attention through movement, color and light.

We develop all stages of the project, from conception to creativity. We welcomed the representatives of each brand to our studio and discussed options and the identity each wanted to see represented. We moved on to the design, prototyping and illustration. We designed each machine and tested the mechanisms in the parts.

Manufacturing involved various production techniques, such as CNC cutting, 3D printing, mechanical assembly and finishing. We developed the electronics and programmed a remote control system for each piece to enable the animations to be triggered at the desired interval and time cadence.

O final feliz desta história está à vista, pode ser visitado na prestigiada pastelaria Versailles, localizada na Avenida da República, em Lisboa.
